Police are requesting assistance from people who may have seen a red Mitsubishi Magna sedan that drove into a police vehicle in North Hobart about 2pm today.
The magna had previously been seen driving the wrong way down Burnett Street and driving along the Brooker Highway.
Police would like to talk to any witnesses to the event, particularly the driver of a white Holden Captiva who was seen flashing its lights, or anyone who may know the driver's identity.
People are asked to call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 if they have any information which may assist police.
