Shamrocks and Knights in battle for glory

Westbury captain Dane Anderson and South Launceston counterpart Sean Harris got their hands on the NTCA premiership cup yesterday that both teams will be playing for in the grand final at the NTCA No.1 Ground today.

Anderson said he was confident of success going into the game after a standout season saw the Shamrocks finish on top of the ladder.

``South did beat us in the Greater Northern Cup semi and will be up and about and give themselves a good chance of beating us but we're happy with where we're at, hopefully we can continue our good two-day form since Christmas this weekend,'' Anderson said.

``We won't change too much and will back our skills and try to play good, positive cricket and take the ascendancy when key points of the game present themselves.''

Anderson said his team was evenly balanced in batting and bowling stocks and the experience of playing and winning last year's final might give it the edge.

Harris said the Knights were confident they could play good finals cricket as they did to beat Mowbray last weekend and had built themselves up for the grand final all year.

``Westbury is a very strong side but we believe if we play our best cricket we're every chance of getting over them,'' Harris said.
