Ricky Ponting's 80th first class century has put Tasmania right on top in its must-win Sheffield Shield contest with Victoria at Bellerive Oval.
The 38-year-old was dismissed late in the day for 104 from 131 balls, an innings that included 15 boundaries, caught by Rob Quiney off the bowling of John Hastings.
At stumps, the Tigers are 6-369, with Jon Wells not out 71 and Tim Paine yet to face a delivery.
James Faulkner was out on the last ball of the day after smashing 30 from 15 balls.
Spinner Fawad Ahmed is the pick of the Victorian bowlers, finishing the day with 2-86 from 23.4 overs.
EARLIER: Tasmania has reached 4-202 at tea in its Shield match against Victoria at Bellerive Oval, with Ricky Ponting not out 38 and Jon Wells on 6.
Mark Cosgrove made 81 before being trapped in front by Ryan Sidebottom, while Jordan Silk met the same fate for 52 from the bowling of Fawad Ahmed.
Alex Doolan (17) and George Bailey (1) were the other men out in that session.
