THE Tasmanian Little Athletics Association has named its two teams to compete at the Australian championships in Canberra in April.

Under-13 and under-15 multievent teams were announced at the end of the two-day state individual championships at St Leonards Athletics Centre at the weekend.

On the second day of competition on Sunday another 10 records were set despite the hot conditions.

Record holders included Burnie's Braydon Viney who jumped 6.23 metres in the under-15 boys' long jump, adding the triple jump record with 12.86m.

Viney gained a third record for the day in the 200m hurdles with his time of 26.48 seconds.

Hobart Districts' Fraser Rose jumped a record of 12.67m in the under-14 boys' triple jump.

South Launceston's Patrick Chilvers grabbed his second record of the meeting with a jump of 6.15m in the under-14 boys' long jump and Claremont's Jack Hale jumped 6.22m in the under- 15 event.

Javelin records went to Clarence's Matthew Hosie with 45.58m in the under-15 boys' event, his second record of the meeting.

South Launceston's Jasmine Turner set a record in the girls' under-15 javelin of 35.07m.

Records on the track went to South Launceston's Michael Stingle in the under-10 boys' 1500m in a time of 5.17.7.

Hobart Districts runner Jacob Tarvyidas set a new mark in the under-9 boys' 800m of 2.47.7.

Burnie's Jasmine Gorrie grabbed her record with a time of 29.8 in the under-15 girls' 200m hurdles.
