Swap meet cranks up for motor fans

THE car park at Launceston's National Automobile Museum of Tasmania will be full of old truck, car and motorcycle parts and memorabilia at the bi-annual Veteran Car Club of Australia swap meet.

Museum manager Phil Costello said that the twice-yearly events, which will be held on Sunday, attracted people from across the state and he had more than once gone home  with something he was unable to resist.

``It's a big day for the museum too and we drop the entry price to the group price which means that adults can get in for $8.75, a saving of $3 - children save $1,'' Mr Costello said.

``The car park fills up very early - I open about 8am on the swap meet days, but the car park is still usually chock-a-block when I arrive.''

Swap meet organiser Ken Watts said that he never knew what parts were going to be on sale.

*  Stall sites cost $10. To register   contact  Mr Watts on 0411 404 560.
