Tasmania's retail trade industry has received a welcome boost, with official figures for January showing a third straight monthly increase.
In trend terms, retail trade increased 0.5 per cent in January in Tasmania, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
January's turnover of $422.7 million was the highest monthly retail trade figure since July last year - up from $420.6 million in December last year.
January's increase follows a 0.3 per cent rise in trend terms in December.
Nationally, the trend estimate rose 0.1 per cent in January.
