Mann's hat-trick does the trick for Devonport

A SECOND half hat-trick from forward Brayden Mann allowed Devonport City to draw 3-3 with Tilford Zebras yesterday in round 3 of the Hudson Cup.

Zebras led 2-0 at the interval and got a third goal in the first 10 minutes of the second half before Devonport could get into the game.

With 15 minutes to go, Mann got the first of his three goals with a tap- in and quickly followed with two more strikes.

Both sides could have won the match in the final few minutes of end-to-end soccer but neither could find a fourth goal.

Launceston City had a come-from- behind 2-1 win against Northern Rangers Northern Premier League side.

Rangers looked sharper early and opened the scoring through Yitay Towns, but Josh Duncan got an equaliser to make it 1-1 at half-time.

About 10 minutes into the second half, City was awarded a penalty for a push in the area, which was converted by Aaron Campbell.

Knights had plenty of shots in the first half against Launceston United but had to wait until just on the interval for Mitch Duffy to break the deadlock with a long range strike.

Duffy scored again after the restart when he ran onto a through ball and beat the keeper and Greg Duffy got Knights third with a volley from a cross into the six-yard box.

United had a penalty well saved by keeper Gallagher Innis who later fumbled the ball, allowing Jason Krushka to run into an empty net.

On ground 2, South Hobart had an 8-0 win against Riverside Olympic after taking a 3-0 lead into the break.

RESULTS:  Launceston City 2 d Northern Rangers 1; Launceston United 1 lt Prospect Knights 3; Devonport City dw Tilford Zebras 3; South Hobart 8 d Riverside Olympic 0.
