A 35-year-old has been sentenced to three-and-a-half year's jail for burning down a neighbour's Housing Tasmania unit.
Kingston's Darrell John Smith was sentenced in the Supreme Court in Hobart by Justice Shan Tennent yesterday.
In November 2011 Smith threw a sauce bottle filled with petrol in to his neighbour's Kingston unit after he and other residents had verbally abused her
Police attended and removed the woman and her daughter for their own safety.
At 3am the next morning Smith returned and set the unit alight , destroying its uninsured contents and causing more than $200,000 worth of damage.
Justice Tennent said his actions `were dangerous in the extreme''.
He will be eligible for parol in February 2015.
