MOWBRAY will look to cap off an undefeated season with a premiership victory when it plays Riverside in the NTCA under-15 grand final at the NTCA No.1 ground tonight.
The Eagles have been the top team all season and coach Josh Taylor said his side was confident going into the game.
``Games against Riverside have been close though so it should be a good game,'' he said.
Taylor said the Eagles' strength was in their strong batting line-up led by captain Luke Scott, Callum Harrison and Jesse Digney.
``It's pretty much an all-round batting list and it will be good for the boys to play on the turf wicket because next year many of them will play third grade next season and some have already done so this year,'' he said.
Mowbray only won one match last season and Taylor said the players were keen to maintain their improvement for the all-important finale.
Riverside finished second on the ladder and coach Alex Kerrison said despite losing twice to Mowbray during the roster season, he expected a close contest.
``The teams are pretty even - the last time we played them we only lost by five I think,'' he said.
``They might just have the upper edge but we have nothing to lose.''
The Blues will rely on Oliver Wood and Ben Simpson with the bat and captain Matt Hill, Trevor Howard and all-rounder Wood will be important with the ball.
``Mowbray are a good batting side with a couple of good, top-order batters so it's important we start well with the ball and then hopefully rock their top order and go through,'' Kerrison said.THE MATCH
