RIVERSIDE Olympic had a 3-2 win against Northern Rangers Northern Premier League side yesterday in round two of the Steve Hudson Cup.
Ross Marzetti got Olympic's first and Sam Hughes added the second for a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Rangers bounced back with two goals of their own to twins Nick and Pat Lanau-Atkinson.
With about 10 minutes to go, Joey Simons came off the bench to strike the winner across the keeper and into the back post.
Host side Launceston United had another hard week, conceding five goals in each half against Devonport City.
Brayden Mann took his Hudson Cup tally to nine, scoring five times. Teenager Michael Holden scored four and midfielder Ben Foote got the 10th.
Tilford Zebras dominated Prospect Knights but failed to make the most of their chances.
Adam McKeown tapped in from six yards after a cross was flicked on and almost straight away, Ryan Smith headed in a corner unmarked for a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Ricky Self made it 3-0 after the restart with a drive from the top of the box.
Knights were reduced to 10 men when Tim Claxton was red carded for a shove. Sam McIntyre added the fourth before Self got his second to make it 5-0.
Launceston City went down 3-0 to South Hobart after trailing 1-0 at the interval. City coach Dane Hudson said his side had periods of good play.
``I think South Hobart had to play pretty well to score,'' he said. ``It's a steep learning curve for us, they're very experienced.''
