TWO discount retail stores opened in Northern Tasmania yesterday, creating 40 jobs in Prospect and Latrobe.
The Reject Shop opened stores at the Prospect Vale Marketplace and Latrobe - taking the number of its Tasmanian stores to 11.
State area manager John Bishton said the store would provide shoppers with a wide range of products and bargains.
"Our Latrobe and Prospect Vale customers will find The Reject Shop is a great place to save money on a huge range of products, including homewares, kitchenware, hardware, pet care, household cleaning products, toiletries and cosmetics," Mr Bishton said.
The Reject Shop now has 261 shopfronts across Australia and the number of Tasmanian stores has doubled since early January.
Company chief executive Chris Bryce said earlier this year that he would love to have stores in St Helens, Deloraine, Legana, Scottsdale, Ulverstone and Launceston's city centre.
