Murder accused faces court

A Waverley man on trial for the murder of Darren John Booth at Kings Meadows last year will appear in the Launceston  Magistrates Court next month.

Michael Vernon Lowe, 51, appeared in the Launceston Supreme Court today following an application  for preliminary proceedings to be heard in front of a magistrate.

Chief Justice Ewan Crawford approved the application lodged by Mr Lowe's acting lawyer Adrian Hall but limited what evidence could be presented at the pre-trial hearing on March 19.
