A Riverside man was jailed until at least Christmas 2015 for breaking in to Archers Manor and "beating the poor (owner) with his own baton''.
Matthew Wayne Leslie, 22, was sentenced in the Launceston Supreme Court this morning to two years' jail for the Newnham hotel burglary and assault, which took place in June 2011.
Leslie is already serving five years for a 2010 assault and grievously injuring a Longford grandfather just four months after the Archers Manor incident.
Chief Justice Ewan Crawford ordered he serve the two year sentence on top of his current sentence.
He will be eligible for parole on December 28, 2015.
