Online tributes have begun flowing for a 21-year-old Launceston man who died while travelling in South-East Asia on Wednesday.
Friends and family of Chris Horrocks have expressed shock and sadness at the sudden death.
``R.I.P. mate, you'll be missed by so many, so much love to all family and friends lucky enough to have been a part of your life,'' one Facebook message read.
``This world is too cruel, taken way to soon Chris Horrocks RIP, my love goes out to your family & all who love you,'' read another.
A spokeswoman for the Foreign Affairs and Trade Department confirmed a 21-year-old Australian man died in Laos on Wednesday.
``The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is providing assistance to the man's family,'' the spokeswoman said.
Mr Horrocks attended Newstead College and worked at Red Herring Surf in Launceston before travelling overseas.
