A 10-year-old boy is in the Launceston General Hospital with significant injuries to his shoulder, face, ear and neck following a dog attack in Deloraine late yesterday.
Police allege that the child was walking with his parents when the attack happened.
The owner of the dog was present at the time and is assisting police and will be proceeded against by summons.
The dog has been euthanased.
