Launceston's Australian Maritime College has a new principal.
The college's current acting principal, Professor Neil Bose, will take on the role full-time following an announcement by AMC board chairman Dr Michael Vertigan this morning.
Dr Vertigan said Professor Bose has a distinguished academic career in the field of marine propulsion, including a previous appointment as Canada Research Chair in Offshore and Underwater Vehicles Design at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, where he won the President's Award for Outstanding Research in 1992.
Professor Bose joined the AMC in May 2007 as Professor of Maritime Hydrodynamics and has been acting principal since January last year.
