A 33-year-old man is in the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious head injuries after he was allegedly bashed in Ravenswood on Wednesday night.
Police alleged that about 10pm on Wednesday, the man was seriously assaulted in Blyth Street.
It is alleged he was punched to the head, causing him to fall backwards on to the road.
He was taken to hospital and then transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital, where he is in a serious but stable condition.
Yesterday, a 34-year-old Ravenswood man was charged with assault. He will appear in an out-of-hours court sitting.
