THE Launceston City Council is about to start planting more trees, this time on the footpath in upper Charles Street from the roundabout up along the footpath to the Launceston General Hospital.

Again they will be deciduous trees with small leaves that, according to the council, will have no impact on the city's stormwater system.
The other reason they will be deciduous is so the sun light will shine through the tree limbs onto the car park and the footpath.
This will give the owners of cars parked in the LGH some light to see all the leaves blown and fallen onto the paintwork on their cars.
When is this council going to see the light and start planting evergreen trees to give the city a cleaner and greener look?
