Nicholas Martin Whiteley, 21, was shot dead at his Westbury home after an altercation with Constable Ian Blake in November 2010.
His former partner Sheena Button was at the home that day and heard the shot that killed Mr Whiteley.
``We heard a heap of banging,'' she told the inquest. ``It was like two bulls in a kitchen ... then we heard the gunshot.''
Miss Button saw Constable Blake leave the house and crawl up the driveway after the shot.
``He had blood everywhere, on his face, he had the gun in his hand,'' she said before breaking down in the witness stand.
Miss Button said Constable Blake gave the handgun to her grandfather, who helped the policeman climb over the front fence of the house.
The inquest heard Ms Button told Constable Blake before he arrived that he should bring another officer because Mr Whiteley could be ``unpredictable''.
