Residents near the southern towns of Molesworth and Collinsvale are being evacuated as a large, out-of-control bushfire closes in on the townships.

Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service personnel are door-knocking properties on Collins Cap Road, from Tanglewood Road to Valley Road including Stocks Road, Suhrs Road and all other side roads that contain dwellings between those areas, and asking them to leave the area immediately and stay with family and friends away from the fire-affected area.
Residents of Ringwood Road, Lachlan, are also being contacted and advised to leave.
According to the TFS, the fire danger rating in the area is very high, with 38 TFS resources currently battling the blaze, including five helicopters.
The fire is expected to reach the area of Collins Cap Road from Tanglewood Road through to Valley Road including Stocks Road, Suhrs Road, and any small private roads within the next one to three hours.
The bushfire may create spot-fires up to 2km ahead of the main front.
There may be embers, smoke and ash falling on Molesworth, Glenlusk and Collinsvale, the TFS said.
There are Nearby Safer Places identified at the Malbina Cemetery 100 Molesworth Road, Collinsvale War Memorial Hall at 14 Hall Road and a longer term Nearby Safer Place at 'Carinya', behind the New Norfolk High School, 103 Blair Street, and residents are able to take their pets and livestock to this facility.
