A $14 million inner city housing redevelopment in Hobart has been announced this morning.
Premier Lara Giddings and Human Services Minister Cassy O'Connor announced the redevelopment of the former adult learning site in Church Street this morning.
The redevelopment will provide housing for young people and will include an education and training centre.
Housing Tasmania will primarily fund the Trinity Hill project from its capital works budget, with $1 million coming from the Tasmanian Jobs Package, Ms Giddings said.
"The project will make a significant contribution to our economy creating over 100 direct and indirect jobs and producing around $34 million in economic activity," Ms Giddings said.
Ms O'Connor said the project would re-energise the precinct by providing modern accommodation for young Tasmanians, including young people living with disability.
