Elderly woman flees masked intruders

Two men who broke into a home in the state's south overnight continued their crime spree their despite being confronted by the elderly female resident.

About 11.30pm last night, police say that two men forced their way into the Cutana Parade home at Snug via a rear door.

However, when the elderly female resident confronted the two male offenders, they instead continued to search the property.

The woman was able to flee the residence and contact police with the help of a neighbour. A third offender was also seen by the woman as she fled the property.

According to police, a safe was stolen from the residence, which contained a significant quantity of cash and jewellery.

The men were all wearing balaclavas at the time of the aggravated robbery and are described as being between 160 and 172cm tall with athletic to stocky builds.
