All eyes will be on a mystery box filled with food ingredients this morning as two North-West chefs prepare for a cook-off.
Former Masterchef contestant Ben Milbourne and Big Apple owner Nigel Squibb are competing in a cook-off in Devonport, for the Kyla's Foundation fund-raising event at Meercroft Park from 10am to 4pm.
The foundation, which honours the life of Kyla who died prematurely at three months old, provides assistance to families affected by the death of a child.
Mr Squibb and Mr Milbourne will be cooking up mystery dishes at the event.
Mr Squib said he was excited for the cook-off, and hoped that the unknown ingredient would be Asian-inspired.
``You can't really prepare, you have to hopefully pull on your knowledge and skills and do something that is acceptable and wins with the judges,'' Mr Squibb said.
``I believe it is a mystery box with a twist . . . throwing in a couple of ingredients left of centre. I don't know what - let's just hope my heart doesn't stop when I lift that box.''
Three mystery judges will taste the dishes, and decide a winner.
