YogaBugs stretch out around the city

YOGA: the only exercise that involves a dolphin, an umbrella stand, a warrior and a cobra being in the same room.

Yesterday's YogaBugs participants ran through a gambit of excellently named poses as part of the revamped 2013 Active Parks program.

The free exercise initiative, in its fifth year, sees daily activities held at various locations around Launceston every day except Saturday.

This is the first year that YogaBugs has been included in the Active Parks program, with sessions being held at the Rocherlea Primary School at 9am on Fridays.

Active Launceston manager Lucy Byrne said that the YogaBugs session was ideal for parents and young children.

"It's something that we have included in the program to break down the barriers for young parents," Mrs Byrne said.

"There is no pressure. It is free, it is easy to do, and they are more than welcome to bring their kids along."

Mum Lauren Innes said that YogaBugs was an ideal way for her to get back into exercise.
