Mickey serves up something for young and old

Mickey Mouse and his mates hit town today to sing and dance their way through 90 minutes of action in Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Show .

The show will be presented at Launceston's Silverdome today and tomorrow.

Performance director Michael Vasquez said the show was aimed at families with something for both young and old, and told the story of Mickey setting up and running a talent show.

Mr Vasquez said the show offered more than entertainment - it taught that teamwork brought results.

He said the show was a worldwide hit, having been performed in North America, Europe, Asia and now Australia.

Mr Vasquez, who is from California, said he spent 11 months of the year away from home watching each show to ensure it met Disney's quality standards.
