FOUR people were last night in a serious but stable condition after a single-vehicle crash on the Bass Highway at Prospect yesterday.
A red Holden Commodore smashed into the bank at the turn-off to Prospect Vale, near Richardson's Harley-Davidson, about 2.15pm.
Police said three occupants were taken to the Launceston General Hospital for observation, while fire and ambulance crews worked to free a passenger trapped in the wreckage for about 30 minutes.
Police initially reported that all four people were trapped.
Two fire crews and several ambulances attended the scene.
Police said last night that there was no indication of what caused the car to veer into the bank.
