VICTORIAN shooter Craig Fitzgerald won the state double rise championship with 57 targets out of 60 on the first day of the Tasmanian clay target shooting championships at Evandale yesterday.

His win followed a shoot-off with Tasmanian Stuart Browning and interstate junior Mitchell Iles.
The A-grade title went to Lawrence Mirabella with 42-50. Brian Muirson was second with 49-60.
Jamie McIntyre took out B grade 43-50.
C grade was won by Tasmanian junior Lachlan Brown, who has only been shooting for a few weeks, with 36-50.
Lance Witzerman, who is in his 80s, finished second in C grade.
Wendy Barton was the women's winner with 42-50, Bill Iles took out the veteran's category with 45-50 and his grandson Mitchell took the juniors with 55-60.
The overall handicap winner was Mark Hateley, who was the only person to shoot 50-50. The handicap veterans went to Ross Kingston 49-50.
Martina White won the women's title with 49-54 and Illes made it double junior titles in taking the handicap with 48-50.
