Four people were taken to hospital following a two-car collision on the East Tamar Highway at Longreach about midday today.
According to Tasmania Police, the crash occurred when one of the vehicles lost control in the wet and slippery conditions and collided head-on with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.
Both cars had two occupants, who were all taken to the Launceston General Hospital for treatment.
The East Tamar Highway between Bridport Road and East Arm Road was blocked for several hours following the crash to clear debris and oil on the road.
