SAFFIRE Freycinet on the East Coast has been named one of Australia's top hotels for 2013.
TripAdvisor gave the hotel at Coles Bay the No. 3 spot for both best luxury hotel and best small hotel, along with 10th spot nationally for best service.
The awards were decided using traveller reviews from the TripAdvisor website.
Saffire general manager Justin King said he was thrilled visitors appreciated the Saffire experience, and he said sharing those experiences were some of the best endorsements in a busy marketplace.
Mr King said the hotel was developing more experiences and events for guests.
He said guests could see wildlife at night on a tour that finished at nearby Moulting Lagoon with star-gazing through telescopes.
He said more experiences and special events would be announced soon.
Saffire, which opened in 2010, has 20 accommodation suites with views of Great Oyster Bay and the Hazards Mountains, and privacy from neighbouring suites.
Mr King said the hotel was designed to capture the essence of the region and connect with the environment.
Tasmanian produce is used in Palate restaurant and The Lounge bar, and the hotel has spa facilities and a gym.
