Historical society president now in favour of proposal

A FORMER critic of the new tower plan for Launceston now supports the idea. Launceston Historical Society president Marion Sargent has today said the plan by entrepreneur Errol Stewart to convert the silos opposite the Seaport to an 11-storey hotel would make good use of existing infrastructure. 

She initially had concerns about how the tower would fit with Launceston's low-rise skyline.
