Designer and vintage fashion on offer for only four hours

A CLOTHING store will open for business for four hours in the Launceston central business district before closing its doors forever.

Up to five local clothing designers and vintage collectors will be busy making and preparing their items for sale in the Pop Up Launceston store next month.

It is the second Pop Up event to be organised by artist Kitty Taylor.

"About 90 per cent of what we sold at the first one was fashion-related, so we thought we would give the punters what they want," Taylor said.

"It will have a focus on handmade or vintage fashion, with accessories and shoes."

Taylor said the vintage pieces included items from the 1960s and 1970s, as well as 1950 rockabilly and pin-up girl attire.

"We had hundreds of people through last time, and everyone involved made a nice profit," she said.

"People like myself who are artists, creators or designers don't have a regular avenue to sell.

"This way we don't have huge overheads like power and rent, which means we can keep our prices lower."
