CRICKET Australia has called upon on and off-field Tasmanian reinforcements following last night's one day disaster in Brisbane.
Paceman Jackson Bird, who was man of the match in the Sydney test, has joined the squad as cover for tomorrow's game at that ground against Sri Lanka.
Bird has played just the seven 50-over matches for the Tigers, taking eight wickets at 34.62.
Tasmanian and Hobart Hurricanes assistant coach Michael Di Venuto will act as the sides batting coach for the Sydney match and Wednesday's game in Hobart.
