THE St Andrews Caledonian Pipe Band hosted a final dress rehearsal last night in preparation for the 11th annual Scottish Power concert on Saturday.
About 500 people are expected to attend two shows at the Devonport Entertainment and Convention Centre, where the band will show off its prowess behind the pipes.
Band promotions manager Nicole Phillips said the show was sure to entertain those who loved the unique sound of bagpipes, drums, Celtic dancing and songs.
"I think (the sounds) are very heart warming and it brings back a lot of memories for a lot of people and I [think] that is where people have forgotten their ancestry," she said.
"There are a few tunes that actually bring a tear to the eye for some of the audience including Amazing Grand and also Highland Cathedral - a lot of people love hearing their two tunes."More than 60 band members will be joined on stage by the folk band The Old Lyric Theatre and the Scottish Power Dance Troupe who will perform Scottish and Irish dance routines. The shows will be on Saturday at 2pm and 7.30pm - tickets are available at the door 30 minutes prior.
