THREE 14-year-old males have been charged with killing two penguins at Ocean Vista Beach in the state's North West last night.
According to police, the youths have been charged with doing an act which resulted in the death of an animal, and further charges under protected wildlife regulations.
Police said two of the youths appeared in the Burnie Court of Petty Sessions today, while the third was bailed to appear at a later date.
Police have asked anyone with information on suspicious behaviour in the Ocean Vista beach area on Monday evening to contact Burnie Police on 64345291 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
