Walking tracks to close due to fire danger

Walking tracks in Tasmania's national parks will be closed tomorrow due to the expected high fire danger.

With a total fire ban in place in the state, some areas in Freycinet National Park and Douglas Apsley National will be closed between 6pm tonight and and 6am Saturday morning.

The Freycinet Visitor Centre, Cape tourville, Sleepy Bay, Friendly Beaches, Richardson's Beach and Honeymoon Bay will remain open.

In Freycinet, Wineglass Bay tracks, Mt Amos Track, Hazards Beach Track, Isthmus Track, Mt Graham Track and Skyline Traverse South Friendly Beaches 4WD Track will be closed.

The Leaberra walking track in the Douglas Apsley National Park will also be closed.

All walking tracks accessible in the Mount Field National Park from Lake Dobson Road will be closed during this time.

The Parks and Wildlife Service Visitor Centre, cafe, Russell Falls and all walking tracks in the lower area of the parl will remain open.
