The Tasmanian Fire Service has issued an emergency warning to the north-east township of Musselroe Bay after a bushfire jumped a containment line tonight.

The service said that the fire at Cuckoo Creek at Musselroe Bay was not controlled and that the fire front was within 30 minutes of the town at 10.14pm tonight.
The fire rating danger in the area is very high.
The TFS said that there may be embers, smoke and ash falling on Musselroe Bay township area and
that as the fire approaches it may become unsafe to be either on foot or in a vehicle as the smoke and heat from the fire will create very dangerous conditions on the roads.
The service warned residents to active their bushfire plan and that it now likely to be too late to leave.
