The process will take in everyone from the board of HRNSW to punters, owners, trainers and drivers during the first two months of next year.

There will be 12 focus groups starting with the board at HRNSW in January. The HRNSW staff and the industry advisory board will follow.

"This is our defining strategic plan and we want to include everyone," HRNSW chief executive Sam Nati said. "We did a strategic plan in 2010 but that was before racefields and the sale of Harold Park, so we didn't have the ability to know what funding we would have going forward.

"The idea with focus groups is to get the outside view, rather than what you would call the inside view at Harness Racing NSW.

"We want to hear from punters as well as breeders, owners, drivers and trainers about what we need to do to take our sport forward.

"We have 12 groups scheduled but if there are more interested we will run more groups. The sessions will run for about three hours and start with a half-hour presentation."

The industry forum will be conducted in February in every region and particular groups and anyone interested in participating in a session can express their interest by emailing Adam Fairley at afairley@hrnsw.com.au by January 11.

Meanwhile, a contract to have the InterDominion Final on March 3 screened on Channel Nine should be completed this week.

The coverage will be for an hour from 3pm and will feature the Chariots of Fire and the Interdominion final.

The six Interdominion heats will be packaged on Sky 2 on February.
