The chairman of the TAFE directors of Australia has been named as the new chief executive of TasTAFE.

Stephen Conway, who is also the current managing director, TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute has been appointed following a nationwide search, Education Minister Nick McKim has announced.
"He (Mr Conway) has been in the TAFE SA system for 25 years and during that period he has been the Director of both metropolitan and regional Institutes and has been part of a TAFE system that has adapted to the changing needs of industry and students," Mr McKim said.
"He is very committed to the role of TAFE as the publicly funded provider of vocational education and training.
Mr Conway is expected to take up the position on January 21 next year.
