SPEEDWAY fans have the chance to see some of the best drivers in the country with three rounds of the national super sedan series being raced in the North over the next six days.
Nineteen contracted drivers - 13 have come from the mainland and six from Tasmania, are competing in the 11-round series which started in Queensland after Christmas.
Round 6 will be held at Carrick Speedway tonight followed by round 7 at Latrobe tomorrow night and round 8 at Carrick on Wednesday.
The series then heads to Western Australia for the final three rounds.
``Coupled with our local cars we're looking at up to 30 cars to compete and it's the first time it's been held in Tasmania,'' Carrick promoter Keith Blair said.
``Five Tasmanian drivers out of the six are actually in the top 10 placings at the moment.''
Launceston-born and Queensland-based Australian super sedan champion Steve Jordan will be competing and is keen to win his first national series title.
Jordan, 47, trails fellow Queenslander and two-time series champion Darren Kane in the national super sedan series by 37 points.
Kane is also a former Tasmanian.
``These events are going to be very competitive and awesome for the spectators to watch,'' Jordan said.
``We've got 20 or so interstate drivers who are very competitive with each other in this national series so it should be a good show.''
