JOHN Thompson, head trainer for mining magnate Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm, has entered horses for three feature races in Hobart on Sunday.
Thompson will target the $150,000 Bow Mistress Stakes with Off And Laughing, the $100,000 Tasmanian Derby with Magnum and the $100,000 Elwick 2YO with Cracow.
Other interstate trainers with entries for the meeting are Anthony Freedman, Danny O'Brien, Matthew Ellerton, Robert Smerdon, John McArdle, Patrick Payne, Robbie Griffiths, Darren Weir, Peter Fell, Matt Laurie and Byron Cozamanis.
Nominations for the Bow Mistress are headed by million-dollar-winning Tasmanian mare Lady Lynette, who has returned to David and Scott Brunton's stables at Seven Mile Beach after being put on the market as a broodmare at the end of her spring campaign.
Only three locally trained horses are among the 10 entries for the Tasmanian Derby, but they include nominal favourite Barysh Quest, who thrashed five Victorian rivals in the Hobart Guineas nine days ago.
Acceptances for all races close at 9am tomorrow.
