Battle of the North-West greyhounds

24 Jan, 2012 03:00 AM
IN-FORM North-West greyhounds Posh Will and Sour Pop should fight out the Mixed Grade 4-5 over 580 metres in Devonport today.

Burnie-trained Posh Will has followed up a win in Hobart with two wins in Launceston.

Wynyard-based Sour Pop has won 12 of his 29 Tasmanian starts, including five of seven in Devonport.

Sour Pop was impressive on cup day when he came from a long way back to win easily in good time.

Victorian Akoya Pearl looks the next best after being placed at her three Devonport starts and she was well supported when second to Sour Pop.

Brighton trainer Michael Stringer will have five runners at today's meeting and all could start favourite.

Ryno Ruler, Painted Amigo, Au Revoir, El Bulli and Painted Patches should all be hard to beat.
