MIKE Leedham was a model of consistency last week on his way to winning his fifth Tasmanian Senior Amateur Championship at Mowbray last week.
He won with a 1-under-par total over three rounds ahead of last years winner Ross Percy, of Cobram Barooga.
Leedham took a two-stroke lead into the final round and Percy began slowly with a couple of early bogeys.
Leedham birdied the fourth hole and suddenly had a five-stroke margin - a lead that he never surrendered.
The next best Tasmanian was Graham Roberts, of Royal Hobart, followed by David Hamilton, of Launceston, and Tim Demden, of Royal Hobart.
It was another successful event for Mowbray and Golf Tasmania, which attracted more 30 mainland competitors.
State team member Andrew Phillips has won this year's Lindisfarne Cup played at the Tasmania Golf Club at the weekend.
Phillips had rounds of 71, 71 and 73 on the par-72 layout to finish a stroke ahead of Craig Christie and Nathan Gatehouse.
While the majority of the state's senior team played, the field consisted of only 23 players and as a result there were no colts, junior or senior trophies awarded.
Leading scores: 215 A. Phillips 71, 71, 73. 216 C. Christie 69, 73, 74. 216 N. Gatehouse 72, 74, 70. 218 M. Schulze 75, 70, 73. 224 C. Bell 79, 70, 75. 231 S. Rawlings 82, 71, 78. 231 A. McCarthy 82, 74, 75.
The next event for state team players is the Golf North-West Open Championship to be played at Seabrook this weekend over 54 holes.
Secretary Glenn Foster will accept late entries today on 0409 869 525.

On Saturday at the Stanley Pro-Am, Launceston professional Jason Russell was clubhouse leader for a while after a 3-under 63 before Chris Hynes, of Victoria, came in with a 62.
