TASMANIAN Jack Riewoldt has capped off a superb season by winning his inaugural Jack Dyer Medal.
The former Clarence forward becomes the first player in Richmond's history to win the best and fairest and the competition's leading goal- kicker award in the same season.
The exciting, young full-forward, who took out the Coleman Medal with 78 goals, edged out Tigers captain Chris Newman in a thrilling medal count.
Riewoldt polled 210 votes to win by six from Newman, with Brett Deledio, winner of the past two Jack Dyer Medals, in third place on 193 votes.
Dustin Martin underlined the impact he had in his debut season by finishing fourth with 159 votes, while in fifth place was Shane Tuck, who continued his remarkable run in the Jack Dyer Medal.
The 21-year-old Riewoldt scored a perfect 25 for his outstanding, match- winning 10-goal display against West Coast at the MCG in Round 12.
He scored three goals or more 14 times, four goals or more eight times and was ranked No. 1 at the club for total marks (123), contested marks (54) and marks inside-50 (79).
