LAUNCESTON will need to bring its A game and to be switched on from the first bounce to beat Clarence in their State League second semi-final tomorrow.
The Blues didn't turn up to play with the necessary finals intensity against the Roos two weeks ago and were reactive instead of proactive, according to coach Anthony Taylor.
"We need to have our intensity on from the start, and I think that after last week we are well and truly up with our tempo," Taylor said.
"We got a good start against Devonport last week, and that's something we will be focusing on tomorrow."
Despite the loss to the Roos in the qualifying final, he said it was not a daunting task travelling to Bellerive again.
"We had a good look at them in the first final and they obviously controlled the play," he said.
"They doubled our possessions and smashed us in the clearances, but moving on from that I thought our guys were terrific last week.
"If we did lose any confidence in that first final, we certainly regained it last weekend."
Taylor said Clarence was first to get its hands on the footy last time they met.
"If you can't get your hands on it early and in tight, then you are certainly going to struggle, and they just dominated the play through the clearances," he said.
Taylor said the Blues would not look at countering the influence of any particular Clarence players.
"If we can shut down Thurley and these guys, then that certainly goes a long way towards helping us win the match," he said.
"But they are so strong through the midfield and have so many rotations that we just have to make sure we're the ones getting our hands on the footy and making them chase us."
