MELBOURNE _ Melbourne Victory can rush in Spanish recruit Ubay Luzardo for tonight's crunch clash with A-League leaders Central Coast Mariners.
Signed on a loan deal, coach Jim Magilton was unsure yesterday morning whether the tall defender's international clearance would be finalised in time, but the paperwork was completed late yesterday.
It was still uncertain whether Victory skipper Adrian Leijer could partner Luzardo in the centre of defence at AAMI Park, after failing to train all week with a groin injury.
Magilton, still seeking his first win after five games in charge, would not reveal his preferred line-up.
But yesterday's training session indicated that he wants the tall Luzardo to slot in alongside Leijer, allowing Mark Milligan to move into midfield.
That would cover for the absence of veteran midfielder Grant Brebner, who ruptured an ankle tendon in last round's scoreless draw with Melbourne Heart.
