Greg Crick was a winner in his first bike race this week.
GREG Crick swapped four wheels for two and won his first bike race in convincing fashion.
Among 40 starters, he powered away from his bunch before the halfway mark in Tuesday's Bums on Seats road race.
Daryl Smith, another newcomer, rode strongly to finish second. Coming in third was Bianca Goss who could be the new Goss-on-the-block.
Will Tearl, Declan Geard and Josh Duggan put in a good effort to take out the next placings. Dylan Kingand Daniel Vander Vlist continue to battle for fastest time honours with King triumphant this time.
Tassie pair on tour: THE Tour of Qatar-1.1 will start on Saturday with Tasmanians Will Clarke (Champion System) and Jai Crawford (RTS Racing Team) lining up.
Flanagan first: THE NHP Northern Vets encountered sweltering conditions for their handicap race at Bishopsbourne.
B grade had the biggest bunch on the day and the field worked well, averaging close to 40km/h for the three laps.
Andrew Flanagan showed the bunch how to finish off the race with a well-timed attack up the last rise to take out the win.
Patrick Cruse took out the bunch sprint for second, and Jon Lewarn came in third.
Congratulations to new members Michael Eastwood (E) and Sherry Gibson (F) who won their grades. Other grade winners on the day were Mathew Sydes (A), Phil Bishop (C) and Peter Dadson (D).
Carnival return: THE rescheduled George Town Carnival will be held on Saturday. All age groups from under-11s will have three races starting from 11am. Riders who have already entered do not have to enter again. New entries are welcome on the day.
