Thunder welcomes new players for 2012

THE North-West Thunder will have nine new players on the court at its first training session for the 2012 season on Monday night.

The Thunder has invited Sam Johnstone (Burnie), Cohan McDermott (Ulverstone), Dwayne Douglas (Devonport), Mason Bragg (Ulverstone) and Mitchell Stitz (Burnie), Ricardo Howard, Josh Murray and Joe Chilcott as well as Josh Dobbie from Victoria to try out for the SEABL season.

Training will be held under the supervision of head coach Phil Thomas at the Ulverstone stadium at 7.30pm.

The Thunder's two US imports Shawntes Gary and Eric Gaff will arrive from overseas shortly and last week the team signed Jaydan Tom from the Gold Coast.

Players remaining on the roster from last year include Nick Haywood, Dylan Warren, Taylor Reeves, Matthew Zerna, Matthew Brazendale and Joel Beveridge.

Haywood will reach his 300-game milestone early in the SEABL season.
