The beep test was introduced two years ago and is a popular event on the second night of the carnival.
Last year Devonport received 20 entries for the beep test which is open to anyone wishing to have a go.
Athletics co-ordinator Rod Walker said entries would be taken on the night although the club would prefer them emailed to dptathclub@gmail.com
``If we get sufficient entries the beep test will be run in divisions,'' he said.
The Devonport club will tonight make two significant announcements on sponsorship for next week.
One will involve a gallery of prizes available in a lucky program competition and the other will further boost Devonport's reputation for distance running.
