NORTHERN bowlers take to the greens this week to complete the second half of their roster, with the top four in all divisions far from settled.
Last year's champion Longford will host ladder leader North Launceston, in what will be the match of the day. A four-shot margin for North in its first encounter gave the team 10 points.
Allan Gamble has led the way for North with support from David Minns and Scott Summers.
The Tigers have added Allan Kemp since their last encounter with North, to add to the skills of Simon Zaporozec and Mark Strochnetter.
Deloraine defeated Launceston by a lone shot in their first round encounter at Launceston, and will be expecting to take the points again on home ground.
An inconsistent start for Deloraine leaves it just outside the four but adding Matthew Mitchell and John Bowerman to support Rohan Donohue has reaped rewards - this line-up should take the points at home.
Launceston, like Cressy, will be happy with any points from this game to avoid relegation.
Trevallyn defeated Cressy in round one on the country green and will be confident of a similar result at home.
Keith Mulligan and Geoff Cherry have been solid for the Friendlies, with Luke Patterson adding to the points tally on occasion.
Cressy has struggled with consistency despite the best efforts of Mark Howlett and fellow skips Jak and Rick Wilson. Some minor tuning over the break may reap rewards.
Kings Meadows was too strong for East Launceston in round one on home turf and with little change to the sides, this showdown should have the same result.
Peter Zoon and Fred McKay have led the charge for Kings Meadows, with good support from Rodney Murray.
Division 1 ladder leader Scottsdale hosts the Tigers in a game that should see it take the bulk points and extend its margin.
Darren Cassidy, Shane Davis and Jake Ihnen have been solid all year with some good wins, making them the flag favourites.
Longford has shown flashes of its skill but a lack consistency has been its Achillies heel.
Eddie Bakes has been a consistent performer for Longford but will need others to support to get the points.
Bridport defeated Beauty Point comfortably in round one, taking the 12 points.
Bridport's Walker brothers have found their consistency with support from Shaw and with no change to the line-up, this may well be the same on Bridports synthetic green.
Trevallyn plays George Town at George Town.
George Town lacks the depth to match it with the top sides but was triumphant over the Friendlies in round one.
Trevallyn has settled its combination and with good performances from Gerry Barwick, Adrian Coomber and Norm Griffiths this could be the same result.
Cosgrove Park covered Kings Meadows in the first round clash but changes to the Kings Meadows line-up could reverse the result.
Cosgrove Park will be looking for the maximum points to keep in touch with the ladder leaders.
