TASMANIA'S three political leaders have no regrets about the election campaigns they have run, conceding that it is now up to the public to have its say.
Polls opened at 8am this morning, with each of the leaders casting their vote before midday.
A gloomy Hobart morning did little to deter Premier David Bartlett, his wife, children and parents from walking Juno the dog to Mt Nelson Primary School in Hobart to cast their votes.
Mr Bartlett said Labor were still in the fight for majority government.
``I am a born optimist,'' he said.
Opposition Leader Will Hodgman, with his young family in tow, cast his vote at Margate, south of Hobart.
Mr Hodgman said that he was ``very confident'' that the Liberal Party would pick up seats around the state.
``I've got faith that Tasmanian voters will make the right decision,'' Mr Hodgman said.
Greens leader Nick McKim and his father John cast their votes in Blackmans Bay, south of Hobart.
Mr McKim said he was hopeful for a positive result for the Greens.
While John McKim was able to vote 1 for his son because he lives in Franklin, the electorate in which Nick is a candidate, Nick McKim, a Denison resident, was unable to vote for himself.
Mr McKim said he would not discuss his vote after being asked if he voted 1 for Greens lead candidate in Denison Cassy O'Connor.
``I'll say this, I'm a disciplined Greens voter,'' Mr McKim said.
The polls close at 6 today.
